Obscurity of the Day: Poor Aunt Hannah

Here’s one of the many short series that ran on the back page of the Chicago Daily News in their heyday of weekday strip syndication. Poor Aunt Hannah is by one of my favorites, Roy W. Taylor. Pretty standard stuff, little brat making life miserable for the hired help, but as always Taylor’s naive but lively cartooning lifts his work above the teeming cartoonist hordes.

The weekday strip ran from April 22 to June 9 1902.
